Description
“Where Are the Humpback Dolphins?” By Dr Alejandra Vargas
Indian Ocean humpback dolphins are South Africa’s most endangered dolphins, with possibly fewer than 500 animals remaining nationwide. Living close to shore, these dolphins navigate a coastline increasingly shaped by development, vessel traffic, pollution, and habitat change. This talk explores where humpback dolphins are still found, and what decades of research are revealing about their movements, habitat preferences, and uncertain future.
